Help For Homeless Pets
Pets Love Homes, Too
When you adopt a dog or cat from Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter, you reduce the number of homeless pets and gain a new loving family member who will become your best friend through adoption. If you can not adopt, then please help our dogs and cats live a better life until their new family finds them with a donation, fostering, help with the wish list, or volunteering.
Pets don't judge, they live and love!!!

Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter
The animal shelter has been operating for many years with a very low profile. This has lead to the shelter housing many lost and abandoned dogs and cats saving them from a poor outcome or packing with other dogs to survive. Needless to say, the shelter has provided food, housing, love, and care for many years.
The animal shelter has reorganized to continue that love and care with a much stronger adoption program so that these animals can find a loving and caring home where they can take care of their new parents.
The animal shelter has a large variety of dogs and a beautiful selection of cats. They desperately need a forever or foster home and love. Some have been here for several years. Being a rural country we have a beautiful collection of hounds, many of which are purebred dogs. See our Find a New Best Friend page to see dogs currently waiting for adoption or foster care. Dog Training & Obedience is Especially Important for Larger Dogs!
You Can Adopt or Donate Regardless of Where You LiveIncluding Athens, Augusta, Greensboro, Lake Oconee, Georgia! Serving Washington-Wilkes County
